Description

The Street Sport Project takes a portable sports arena to areas across Aberdeen City and gives young people the opportunity to play sport for free. The project is a great partnership and provides new opportunities and activities for young people while reducing risk of young people becoming involved in anti social behaviour and providing a healthier alternative to drugs and alcohol. Volunteers involved in the Street Sport Project assist with activities such as erecting and dismantle the StreetSport arena, help referee games, organise teams, fixtures and to build relationships with the young people involved in the sessions. As the volunteers do more hours they will also have the opportunity to be put onto Scottish Sports coaching courses, Child protection and First Aid courses etc. This is a great, enjoyable opportunity to help in the local community, make a positive difference and also the opportunity to develop new skills and interests as well.
