Location Meet at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland Community Stroke Service group held at Margaret Blackwood Housing Raeden Crt and also in the clients own home or other agreed location.
Description

Could you help someone who has communication difficulties caused by stroke? A stroke can affect a persons ability to communicate with their family, friends and colleagues. Their speech or understanding of language can be affected and it can be very frustrating to do everyday things such as make a phone call or ask for what you need when out and about. Could you help someone achieve their goals by encouraging the use of communication strategies and providing opportunities for conversation?

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

Award winning training from CHSS in Aberdeen. Introduction to stroke, communication strategies, challenging conversations, volunteer roles & responsibilities, endings and loss. first aid, assisting with mobility.
