ASPIRE Volunteers at ASPIRE North

Working with young people, helping to build their skills and encourage progression to Higher Education

Dates 1 Feb 2016 - 1 Feb 2019 (2 hours)
Location Aberdeen
Description

ASPIRENorth runs a variety of activities throughout the school year with S3-S6 pupils (aged 14-18).

Activities range from classroom workshops to campus visits and group residentials. The main aim of our programme is to help pupils understand the various educational opportunities available to them after school and encourage them to apply for college or university.

Volunteering is as often as you can manage – we notify you of upcoming activities and you let us know if you’re free to help out. The biggest (and most popular) event we run is an all-expenses paid residential over 4 days in April where we show pupils what student life is really like. It’s a fun-filled week that includes campus visits (not just in Aberdeen), sports clubs, societies and team building activities with various levels of responsibility available.

Pupils always enjoy hearing from current students about what student life is really like and the different pathways into Higher Education. It doesn’t matter what subject you are studying at the moment or if you have no previous experience in volunteering. As long as you enjoy working with people and are willing to try new things you will get on great!

Once we have received your notice of interest we will send you one of our application forms to fill out which provides us with some basic information about yourself and you can ask us any questions you may have about volunteering.
